Introduction of SVF

SVF is a folk high school in Sweden and anyone above 18 years can apply to this school. The courses are designed in the following directions: one is a general high school program for those who come for make-up knowledge required for Swedish Universities; one is an intemational college program for those who want to improve their knowledge about Sweden and their knowledge in languages.

SVF is situated in the city of Jonkoping, south of Sweden. SVF is good at receiving international students and has a many year history of educating students from many different countries including USA, China, Russia, Latvia, India and so on. Every year many exchange students come with different purposes, for example some come for make-up courses that are required for Swedish University studies, some for languages only (such as Swedish, French, German). SVF knows how to teach languages and  has examples of those who came from China and succeeded in being accepted by Swedish Universities alter getting English A from SVF.

Background

With the rapid development of economy and technology and the strong wave of globalization in the world, more and more students are eager to go abroad to have a better international education in order to meet with the intensive competition in the future. But many of them can only dream about studying abroad because of lack of competence in languages. ISVF will help you to realize your dream.

Characteristics

  1. Courses can be designed according to your need. If you, after one term or two years, can be admitted to a Swedish University is up to you and your ability.
  2. English A or B is required for applying to a Swedish University and you don’t need to take TOFEL or IELTS test. The basic requirement for English language is English A for some undergraduate programs in English. If you have English B you can apply to all undergraduate and master programs.
  3. General University’s entry requirement in Sweden is that you have successfully completed your upper secondary education. You don’t need to take Entry Examination to be admitted to a Swedish University, except for some special programs.
  4. Very good language environment. SVF has a rich experience in teaching languages. You can improve your English not only by English teaching itself  but also by learning the culture and society. There are many students coming from different cultures and countries at SVF, so the common language is English and you can only communicate with people in English when you go shopping. You use English all the time.
  5. You can get more knowledge about Sweden if you study at SVF, which can help you a lot in your life in Sweden.
  6. You should have basic knowledge in English if you apply to SVF. SVF will give you a English test before offering you a Acceptance Letter.
  7. You will stay in a double room, and have meals from Monday morning to Friday lunch; breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are public kitchens in the dormitory building.

Target group

 Everyone above 18 years old and have successfully completed the upper secondary education.

Application materials include diploma and academic records of the upper secondary school certified by Notary public office.

Application deadlines

Students applying to SVF have a deadline, 1 May, for autumn term studies and 15 September for spring term studies.

Admission

An entry test is given by SVF and SVF will chose students according to the result of test and the merit. (20 persons)

Tuition Fee and accommodation cost

Tuition fee for one term is 25 000 SEK and accommodation cost 4250 SEK/month including room (2 persons/room), breakfast, lunch and dinner from Monday to Thursday and breakfast and lunch on Friday.
